Quarterback Tommy DeVito Transfers From Illinois Fighting Illini To Syracuse Orange

Syracuse Landed a Transfer QB

Tommy DeVito, a former starting quarterback for the Illinois Fighting Illini, has announced his intentions to transfer to the Syracuse Orange.

DeVito, who entered the transfer portal on December 5, 2022, spent the last two seasons in Champaign, Illinois, throwing for over 2,500 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

The New Jersey native will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Orange.

• DeVito is a pro-style quarterback with a strong arm and good accuracy.
• He is also a mobile quarterback who can make plays with his legs.
• DeVito has experience playing in a Power Five conference.

DeVito is expected to compete for the starting quarterback job at Syracuse.

The Orange are coming off a 7-6 season in 2022, including a 41-24 win over the Purdue Boilermakers in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.

Syracuse is scheduled to open the 2023 season on September 2, hosting the Louisville Cardinals at the Carrier Dome.
