The recalled products include:
- All liverwurst produced at the Jarratt, Virginia establishment
- Ham products with a code date of 2125 or lower
Consumers are advised to discard or return any recalled products to the point of purchase.
Consumers Urged to Take Precautions
Listeria can cause serious infections, particularly in pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea.
The FSIS recommends thoroughly cooking deli meats before consumption to kill any bacteria. Consumers should also avoid touching their face after handling deli meats.
